6 Years Old

My nephew on his birthday.
Some lens flare/glare or something has caused an angelic halo... not fooling me. (Just kidding, kinda) Can any photographic enthusiasts explain what happened? Pics taken with a a 50mm f/1.8 lens with a UV filter.

The Halo is sweet!

The 50 1.8 always finds halos.

But I think this is the reason why. Unless you have a very nice and very expensive coated UV filter, if you look at your 50 1.8, you'll see the actual front of the lens is set far back deep into the housing making a fair bit of space (and a LOT compared to almost every other filter/lens assembly and light bounces around in there. I've never been able to use a filter on the 50 1.8
